About The Host

Aaron Newcomb
Executive Producer, Host

Aaron spent his days as a child tearing apart anything mechanical and sorting the various gears and motors into bins to be used later for all sorts of experiments. He broke his teeth in computing on a 16K TRS-80 Color Computer from Radio Shack. In college, Aaron majored in Communications and minored in Broadcasting at just about the same time that the Internet came into being. Unfortunately for his grade point average, this meant that he spent way too much time running around on various MUDs (precursor to today's MMORPGs) and playing the original version of Sid Meier's Civilization and Castle Wolfenstein. He has had 11+ years of professional IT experience and has spent the last 6 of them as a Storage Architect for companies like Hewlett Packard and Procter & Gamble. He currently works as a Senior Systems Engineer for Sun Microsystems. Aaron believes that open source will someday rule the world.
